Papier-mâché
My paper objects naturally evolve from my calligraphic practice. After each session, I’m left with a considerable amount of used paper that would be a shame to discard. Thus, my studio follows a kind of sustainable cycle: paper is used for calligraphy, then some is transformed into light objects, while another part becomes the base for new calligraphic experiments.
The objects are created using mixed techniques: papier-mâché, papier-collé, semi-opaque paper, and the insertion of natural elements such as plants, stones, and natural pigments.
Depending on size, shape, and character, the resulting lampshades can serve various functions—as table lamps, bedside lights, ambient room lighting, or hanging fixtures—each offering a warm, filtered glow through the memory of paper.
