PHOTOBJECT|Materiality

The photobject series brings together digital printing and manual intervention, exploring the space between image and object, representation and physical presence.

The material on which the photograph is printed becomes part of the work itself: an object made of metal is printed on a metal plate; one made of wood is printed on wood. Depending on the work, manual intervention further transforms the printed image, reinforcing its physical presence as an object.

This interplay between image, material and scale creates perceptual shifts and trompe-l’œil ambiguities — a visual game between what is represented and what is physically there.
